"A lovely southern French wine, great with barbequed food, to be consumed within 3 years of vintage. Warm with cherry and red fruits, supple tannins and a peppery finish."
The majority of our first wine is produced on volcanic soil (Syrah, Grenache) with a touch of Cinsault and Carignan (schist). A short maceration of grapes is followed by 6 months aging in tank.
The Vintage: Due to the warm conditions during flowering and decent rainfall throughout the ripening period the 2008 vintage has turned out to be one of our best balanced to date! It was also our first vinification of recently acquired parcels of Grenache and Syrah vines found on volcanic and grit soils. The growing season was prolonged by cool conditions during August and picking started in late September. The wines of 2008 have a real purity of fruit with great minerality and finesse.
Tasting Note: The nose exhibits very pure red fruits with floral notes, white pepper and liquorice. The palate is fresh and precise with great texture and a long lingering finish.
